Re:             Update - Coronavirus

The changes taken by regulatory bodies, professional sports, corporate companies has been unprecedented. Most every event that generates revenue has been canceled.  We will need to make change sot our business sin the next days and weeks.

Airline Hotels’ Response Team is closely monitoring this situation including communications from the Public Health Agency of Canada and Provincial Governments regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). This team meets daily. The Health and safety for our associates and our guests is our top priority.

At this time the risk in Canada for personal health remains low. The risk to the health of our business is now critical. All the actions taken by regulatory bodies, professional sports, corporate companies, etc. was taken to keep the risk low. However, it has stopped many forms of revenue for us.

Airline Hotels is committed to taking every reasonable precaution in order ensure that our workplaces continue to be healthy and safe.  We have taken numerous measures and developed plans to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 situation. The best way to protect against and prevent the spread of COVID-19 continue to be by taking the following measures:

  • washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • avoiding close contact with people who are sick– avoid hugging, shaking hands etc. as appropriate
  • coughing or sneezing into your sleeve and not your hands,

          and;

  • we require all associates to stay home if they are sick at all. This is a must.

Additionally, Department Managers have been conducting Coronavirus Awareness training for all associates. Today each department received updated information on approved chemicals, high contact work areas and preventative cleaning. As of today, we implemented enhanced cleaning lists for each department to ensure that surfaces that are touched regularly by guests and associates alike are cleaned frequently. Please review the information posted in your Department.

For those that are traveling (subject to change as events change):

  • All travel for work is to stop effective immediately
  • Anyone leaving on personal travel outside of their province who departs on March 14 or later will not be allowed to return to work until they self-quarantine for 14 days from their date of their return. This is not paid time off.
  • Anyone currently away on travel outside of their province who departed before March 14 or later is allowed to return to work but our strong preference is for you not too. We prefer you self-quarantine for 14 days from her date of their return.

We continue to follow the lead of Canadian public health authorities which are stating that the risk to the to the public continues to remain low. We will continue to take every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of our guests and associates.  If you have questions about COVID-19 please see your Manager.
